Hello! I’m Maura, the lady behind The Projectory.

I’ve been blogging here since 2010, honing my interest in DIY design in the various spaces I’ve called home. First, a studio apartment:

And then a bedroom in a shared house:

Followed by a second studio apartment:

This 1200sq ft condo, where I finally was able to undertake the design benefits of home ownership, like a full kitchen and bathroom renovations:

As of Fall 2016, we bought a 2900sq ft Second Empire Victorian that needs a lot of work. Pictures to come!

I have a degree in Textile Engineering and work full time at a university. I write knitting patterns freelance, and I perform as an aerialist with the feminist circus theater company, Tangle Movement Arts:

This is Nikki!

Nik’s my beloved wife and ever-willing home project assistant with an impeccable design sense of her own. She is also a librarian, and we have a metric ton of books in our home. We were engaged on April 11th, 2014, and were married in June of 2015.

Collectively, we have a dog, Abel, and three cats: Pie, Ruth, and Naomi.
